33s on a 3rd gen without a CMC — who's actually done it?
Running 285/70R17s on a 3in lift and I'm getting a light rub on the body mount at full lock, mostly in reverse. Everyone on the forums says CMC immediately, but I'd rather not cut the truck if a washer relocation and a little massaging would do it. Anyone running 33s for a few years without a chop? What did you do instead?
Build log: '21 TRD Off-Road desert build
Starting a proper log now that the truck is where I want it. Phase 1 was the 3in Fox kit and 33s, phase 2 was armor and the rack, and phase 3 (this winter) is dual battery and a fridge slide. Happy to answer anything about the install — the UCAs were the only part that fought me.
Fins & Things trail report — water crossings in October
Ran Fins & Things last weekend. The two low spots that normally hold water were dry, but the fin descents were slick after the rain on Friday. Two rigs in our group without sliders took a hit on the same ledge. If you're going this month, go early and don't follow a 35s line on 33s.
Coilover clunk after 2in lift — normal or a problem?
Got a single clunk from the front driver side over speed bumps since the level kit went on. Re-torqued everything to spec and it's still there. Spring perch seating? Top hat? Sway bar end link? Truck has 14k miles so the parts are fresh.
GR Corolla track pads: which compound are you running?
Two track days on the stock pads and they're already fading by lap six at Chuckwalla. Looking at a dedicated street/track compound that won't squeal on the school run. What's the consensus — and do you swap rotors too or just pads?
Black Bear Pass — still closing for the season?
Trying to plan a last trip before the snow. Has anyone heard when San Miguel County is locking the gate this year? Last season it closed the first week of October and I missed it by four days.
