Upcoming meets
Difficult

Fins & Things

Moab, Utah

Slickrock fins with big ledge drops and endless optional lines. The fin descents are the part that gets first-timers - low range, no brakes, let the engine do the work.

9 mi4.8

Minimum setup: 33in tires + 2in lift. Sliders strongly advised.

Difficult

Imogene Pass

Ouray, Colorado

The second-highest pass in Colorado at 13,114 ft. Loose switchbacks on the Ouray side, narrow shelf road above Telluride, and weather that changes in ten minutes.

17 mi4.6

Minimum setup: 33in all-terrains, working 4Lo, good brakes. Open July to early October.

Moderate

Sand Hollow Dunes

Hurricane, Utah

Open sand bowls and steep climbs on the west side of Sand Hollow. Great place to learn tire pressure and momentum - and to get very stuck if you stop halfway up a climb.

12 mi4.5

Minimum setup: 35s aired to 12 psi, recovery boards, flag required.

Moderate

Ozark Overland Loop

Ozark National Forest, Arkansas

Gravel forest service roads linking a handful of swimming holes and campsites. Mud after rain, creek crossings all year, and almost no traffic on weekdays.

38 mi4.3

Minimum setup: Stock 4x4 with all-terrains is plenty. Watch the creek depth after storms.

Extreme

Black Bear Pass

Telluride, Colorado

One-way downhill from Red Mountain Pass into Telluride, including the Step and the switchbacks above town. Not a place to learn four-wheeling, and not a place for a trailer.

13 mi4.9

Minimum setup: 35s, skids, sliders, experienced driver. One-way only, no trailers.
